The Twisted Pro™ 4R100 is engineered for serious gas-powered Ford trucks that work hard and pull weight. This is not a basic rebuild with a shift kit — this is a structurally upgraded, hydraulically corrected, increased-capacity 4R100 built to survive real-world towing abuse.

This option provides increased torsional strength and shock-load resistance for trucks operating under sustained heavy load conditions.

The reliability of any performance transmission depends on more than the transmission itself.
Before installing your new Twisted Pro™ 4R100, the vehicle's engine, cooling system, drivetrain, and supporting components should be inspected to ensure they are operating properly.
Improper engine performance, excessive heat, tuning issues, driveline vibration, converter contamination, or restricted cooling systems can quickly damage even the best-built transmission.
For best results, we strongly recommend:
• Thoroughly flushing or replacing the transmission cooler
• Inspecting all cooler lines and fittings
• Verifying proper engine operation and tune
• Repairing any existing engine performance issues prior to installation
• Verifying driveline and U-joint condition
• Inspecting flexplate condition and crankshaft endplay
• Using the correct transmission fluid specified for your application
• Following proper converter installation procedures
• Confirming adequate cooler flow before vehicle operation
Transmission temperature has a direct impact on transmission life.
Vehicles used for towing, hauling, oversized tires, commercial service, snow plowing, motorhome use, or performance applications generate significantly more heat than stock applications.
For this reason, Twisted Torque strongly recommends:
• Large external transmission cooler
• Deep aluminum transmission pan
• Synthetic transmission fluid
• Transmission temperature gauge or monitoring device
Sustained transmission temperatures above 220°F can dramatically shorten fluid life and component longevity. Keeping transmission temperatures under control is one of the most important factors in maximizing transmission life.
A properly installed, properly cooled, and properly maintained transmission will provide the best long-term performance and reliability.
